Summer is right around the corner and things are starting to heat up at the box office! Kicking off a slew of sure to be summer money makers is, Marvel's "Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness".

**This is a SPOILER FREE REVIEW**

Taking place soon after the events of "Spider-Man: No Way Home", Doctor "Steven" Strange (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) see's himself having to protect America Chavez (played by Xochitl Gomez), a young girl who has the power to travel across the various universes of the multiverse, but doesn't know how to control her powers. Unaware of certain events that recently occurred (make sure to watch WandaVision on Disney +), Strange seeks out guidance from fellow acquaintance, Wanda Maximoff (played by Elizabeth Olsen), who has deceptively-sinister, intentions of her own to steal America's powers. Now let's get strange!

Remember when it was said that "Eternals" was unlike anything Marvel had done before? Yeah, just you wait! Unfortunately "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse Of Madness" may not work for everyone's liking, but as for me, it may just be one of my fave Marvel outings! I wouldn't recommend taking young kids to see this one though, as it is much more intense and frightening than previous Marvel films.

Without being spoiler heavy, this film starts out like any Marvel movie would... but Wanda IS THAT WITCH and soon takes us for a turn down fear street! Yes, it's true! The second half of the movie goes there, with some bloody intense kills (well intense for a PG-13 Marvel movie), jump scares, and ghoulish imagery. Although, the horror aspects can sometime seem a bit on the campy side, so I think people may be bit divided on that.

Even though I tend to enjoy *most Marvel movies, I appreciate that "Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness" took some risks, and didn't feel like the same old formula (even though that can still be a good thing)🤷‍♂️ There were just certain things that I really appreciated about this one, and of course the experimenting with horror was one of them, but the film can also be very creative visually, and with it's ideas. There is one moment in the beginning of the third act that just really feels unique and special...I don't wanna spoil it, but that one creative decision fully sold me on on this movie✨🎹🎶🎵🎼✨

Wanda is truly the star of this film, and her story arc is the glue that holds it together. Just sayin! I wouldn't have been mad if it was "Wanda in The Multiverse Of Madness" and Doctor Strange had the side plot😂 Elizabeth Olsen is freaking in incredible! I mean that woman has such a vast acting range!

Now, just FYI: there are two post credit scenes as you would expect from a Marvel movie, but you don't need to stay for both! The mid-credits scene has the surprise, but the one at the very end of the credits is not worth staying for as it just ties in to a funny scene featured in the movie...nothing exciting!

Consensus: Love it or leave it, but Sam Raimi's "Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness" doesn't play by the typical Marvel formula (which isn't a bad thing to begin with), but the mixture of campy horror with a pinch of heartbreak, and creative panache, just hits different😌

One more thing - I mentioned above that it would be a good idea to watch "WandaVision" before seeing this movie, but you may want to add "What If" on Disney + to your list as well to prepare yourself for some surprises😉
