Good morning all😄🎬 Can you believe Halloween, and the end of October 2021 is just two days away?😱 With that being said let's dive into the final review of my "Family-Friendly Freaky Fridays" film series of the year😉🎬🎃👻 A must watch (at least once every October), and one of my favorite Halloween films ever, "Hocus Pocus"💚🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️

It's October 31st, 1693 in Salem, Massachusetts, Thackery Binks (played by Sean Murray) awakes to the sight of his sister Emily (played by Amanda Sheperd) being snatched away by one of the Sanderson Sisters, consisting of three seriously dumb, but hilarious witches named, Winifred (played by Bette Midler), Mary (played by Kathy Najimy), and Sarah (played by Sarah Jessica Parker). After wandering off from his village to the Sanderson Sisters house in the woods to find Emily, he finds the old hags trying to get her to scarf down a potion that they have concocted which will let them suck the youth, and life out of her. Unfortunately, while not able to save his sister in time, the witches catch Thackery in the process, turn him into a black cat, and give him the curse of immortality. Before Thackery left the village to try and save Emily, he told an acquaintance to summon the other villagers to the Sanderson Sisters house, and sure enough they showed up, pitchforks, torches of fire and all. The Sanderson Sisters are rightfully hung to death on the spot, but before the break of the neck, they make sure to cast a spell that will resurrect them during a full moon, on All Hallows Eve, when a virgin lights the black flame candle still inside the house. Fast forward three hundred years later to 1993. A teenager named Max Dennison (played by Omri Katz), a new kid on the block you could say, just moved to Salem from Los Angeles, California. Not really feeling in the Halloween spirit, Max is forced to take his little sister Dani (played by Thora Birch) Trick-R-Treating, While out and about, and after a minor argument, Max and Dani run into one of his classmates, also the girl he has a crush on, Allison (played by Vinessa Shaw) at her home....well...uh mansion. Earlier in the day at school, Max was making a big deal about how he doesn't believe in The Sanderson Sisters, which they teach the kids about in school every halloween now...so he has this bright idea for all of them to sneak into the old house of the Sanderson Sisters, after Allison explained to them that her mother has a key to the place from when they turned it into a museum. Enter the Sanderson Sisters house: a virgin (Max) lights the black flame candle, and....

THE WITCHES IS BACK🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀😏 Now, Max, Dani, and Allison must figure out how to defeat the witches before it's too late!

I've always enjoyed "Hocus Pocus", and it is a film that amuses me every time I watch it😄 The flick is fun, super fast paced, and I think the witchy satire humor is such a hoot...whenever Mary came flying out of the house on a vacuum instead of a broom because their brooms got stolen💀😂🤣😂 Even the dialogue, I think, is very witty and funny! Cracks me up😂 Of course you can't forget Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker's hilariously wicked performances👏👏👏

While the movie is definitely family friendly, for those who have yet to see "Hocus Pocus", and for younger viewers, there is a bit of mature talk at times. Such as "a virgin must light the black flame candle" in order to bring the witches back. Now of course that went over my head as a kid, but now at 30 years old I understand. Surprisingly I never questioned the word though! There is some other questionable dialogue too, but over all it's a highly entertaining Halloween watch for the fam! The film can also be a bit intense a times, and there is a decent jump scare near the end I will mention too! It's rated PG.

Consensus: "Hocus Pocus" is one of my favorite Halloween films, and in my opinion should be a must watch every October...at least once....I know it is for many people😄🎃 The humor & witty script never ceases to make me chuckle, and Better Midler's performance as Winifred Sanderson is one for the history books🤷‍♂️🧙‍♀️👏👏 I said what I said!

Oh, and you all better get excited! In case you haven't heard, after almost 30 years we are getting a sequel😁🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️🎃 "Hocus Pocus 2" is being released in Fall 2022 on Disney + 🙌

("Family-Friendly Freaky Fridays" will return in 2022) 🎬😉🎃👻💀💚🧡💜)
