Good afternoon fellow movie lovers😄🎬💚 It's time for another dose of February Funnies, and this week I am reviewing the 2004 Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore romantic comedy "50 First Dates"🙂 This is a movie that I know I have seen at least once, years back, and maybe in bits & pieces since then🤔

The film follows a goofy, but charming guy named Henry Roth (played by Adam Sandler), who resides on the island of Oahu in Hawaii as a veterinarian at the Sea Life Park Aquarium. One morning after Henry's boat breaks down, he grabs some breakfast at a local cafe while awaiting the coast guard. In the midst of his delicious breakfast, he notices a beautiful woman named Lucy (played by Drew Barrymore) using her waffles to build various architectures. While antsy to introduce himself at first, Henry gathers up the nerves to go back to the cafe and introduce himself to Lucy the next day, where they end up having breakfast together. Both ecstatic, and sparks flying all over, they agree to meet for breakfast again the next morning....but when Henry sits down at the booth the next day, he is surprised by the fact that Lucy does not remember him AT ALL! Well come to find out, Lucy and her father, Marlin (played by Blake Clark) were in a serious car accident the year prior. Lucy suffered some brain damage which left her with short term memory loss, causing her to only have memories prior to the accident, and forget everything that happens currently after twenty four hours. Lucy wakes up every day thinking that it is the same day, and date that she and her father were in the accident. Truly in a pickle, Henry really likes Lucy, but this relationship is gonna take some patience, and commitment...but with some help from Lucy's attentive father and brother, Doug (played by Sean Astin), he may just be able to make it work😉

As I mentioned above, it's been quite some time since I've seen this movie, but overall I thought it was an incredibly charming film, and easy watch!

I know Adam Sandler doesn't have the greatest rep when it comes to comedies, but he has a fan in me. I mean there have been some stinkers that I haven't really liked, but for the most part I think his humor is funny, and he knows how to have a fun time when making a movie😄 I always tend to like his movies more when they are set in/or partly set in a getaway location, with pretty scenery such as "Just Go With It", and "Blended"..."50 First Dates" is another example🍍🌊🌺

As far as the humor, there definitely were parts that I thought were funny, especially the walrus gags😂 Those were the best! However, I personally appreciated the heartwarming aspects of this movie even more. Especially the ending! So cute☺️

Consensus: While "50 First Dates" has it's share of stupidly funny moments, the touching moments mix fairly well with the humor making it a charmingly breezy watch😄🎬🌺🌊🍍🎨😂
