Ray J's Review - Marvel's "Shang-Chi and The Legend Of The Ten Rings"

Marvel's "Shang Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings" not only features some badass martial arts, but has an amazing fantasy element to it, and quite the feast of visuals in the second half! I loved it!

The film centers around martial arts master Shang-Chi (played by Simu Liu), who ran away from his father when he was younger after he trained him to become an assassin. Now living under the alias name Shaun, he works with his good friend Katy (played by Awkwafina) valeting cars, living a normal life, yet yearning for more. Low and behold his past just caught up to him....while Shang-Chi, and Katy are on a public bus he is confronted by a mysterious group of men who are after the pendant necklace that his late mother gave him when he was a young boy. Those men just happen to work for his father, and are apart of the "Ten Rings Organization". After kicking some serious, and I mean SERIOUS butt, Shang-Chi proceeds to inform Katy of his past, and they decide to travel to China to find his sister, Xialing (played by Meng'er Zhang) to warn her about the men after the pendant, since she has one as well. I won't spoil anymore and get into the story anymore from here on out, but I will say you all are in for one awesome treat!

While "Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings" is full of awesome martial arts, and fantasy elements, I was also amused at how humorous the film is, and Awkwafina steals the show! I absolutely loved her character Katy, and I personally think that she is a stand out. Not only was she funny, but Katy ends up being a pretty big deal!! Of course I have to give props to Simu Liu as the man himself Shang-Chi also...he was absolutely phenomenal, and man does he have what it takes in this movie!

I mean if you weren't already convinced by the freaking awesome trailer, the film itself is a damn win! I highly recommend taking yourself and anyone else to the movie theater as soon as possible to see it on the big screen, and have a blast! #SupportMovieTheaters #SaveCinema
