While "Reminiscence" does have some nice visuals, and solid acting performances from Hugh Jackman, Rebecca Ferguson, and Thandie Newton, unfortunately the movie itself is incredibly dull, and the plot is hardly interesting.

"Reminiscence" takes place in the distant future where many people want to look to the past for pleasure. A new technology has been made where people can go on a journey in to their past to relive their memories...somewhat as a therapy. Nick Bannister (played by Hugh Jackman) is a private investigator of the mind, and along with his partner Watts (played by Thandie Newton), they run a business using this technology on clients who are in need of help. One day a mysterious new client, Mae (played by Rebecca Ferguson) comes in, and as Nick witnesses her memories he starts to become obsessed with her case, while also falling in love with her. Nick's obsession with Mae soon begins to get the best of him as he begins to learn that she might not be who he thinks she is, but maybe, just maybe there is something going on that he hasn't figured out, and hasn't seen quite yet!

As I mentioned above this movie did not really do it for me unfortunately, but it does have it's pro's and cons.

Pros: - Hugh Jackman and Rebecca Ferguson have excellent chemistry, and you may remember them co-starring in one of my favorite movies ever "The Greatest Showman", as PT Barnum, and his almost fling who could really sing, Jenny Lind. Once again, their acting chemistry, and performances are undeniable, but unfortunately it is not enough to save this sluggish film. - The movie also has some very cool visuals! As I mentioned, it takes place in the future, and a huge percentage of the city is covered in water...not really underwater, but flooded...

The cons: - The movie is very slow, dark, and dull, and didn't seem like it went anywhere up until the last 30 minutes.

I would say this film isn't a must see, but if you're interested in seeing it please go to a movie theater! I cannot stress enough that there is no better way to watch a movie than on the big screen #SupportMovieTheatres #savecinema

"Reminiscence" is now playing in theaters, and is also streaming on HBO Max starting today, and will be available for the next 30 days.
