Good evening everyone! I am so excited to share with you all my review for "Sing 2"🎤🎬✌️

I attended one of the early access screenings that occurred this afternoon, and I can’t get over how more fulfilling, and entertaining this sequel is as a whole compared to the first! The last 30 minutes are HUGE, with a literal out of this world production that is truly rewarding

🎶🛸🪐💫👽

"Sing 2" opens somewhat where the first film left off: the 'Moon Theater', owned by Buster Moon (voiced by Matthew McConaughey) is thriving, and we see Meena (voiced by Tori Kelly), Johnny (voiced by Taron Egerton), Rosita (voiced by Reese Witherspoon), and Gunter (voiced by Nick Kroll) putting on a lively performance of Prince's "Let's Go Crazy" to the act of "Alice In Wonderland". Later on Buster scoops up Ash (voiced by Scarlett Johansson), who has been off doing her own thing since we last saw her, then gathers the rest of the group to head to Redshore City (similar to the Las Vegas strip) where they sets their sights on auditioning for a big head honcho of one of the local entertainment resorts, Jimmy Crystal (voiced by Bobby Canavale). While not officially getting the clear to audition at first, the crew sneaks their way in (where there is a bit of deja vu from the first film)...sitting through various auditions of short song snippets originally Taylor Swift, Adele, Drake, DNCE, Billie Eillish, and more! Finally getting their turn, the gang begins to audition with "Let's Go Crazy", but immediately get the "No-Go" buzzer😂🚨 That is until Gunter begins spitting out his idea that he's had for this epic outer space stage production, and mentions the name of Clay Calloway (voiced by Bono), a famous musician who has been in hiding ever since his wife passed away. Quick to come up with a fib, and a plan, Buster says that they can get Clay Calloway to be a part of this "Out of This World" show. If you've seen the first film, you know Buster can get in a bit over his head, so may I recommend checking out "Sing 2" if you wanna know if the show goes on, or if it's as dead Mike the mouse😂

What I loved about "Sing 2" is that not only do you have the awesome soundtrack of music (featuring Coldplay's "A Sky Full Of Stars", The Struts "Could've Been Me", Aretha Franklin's "Say A Little Prayer", Ariana Grande & Zedd's "Break Free", The Yeah Yeah Yeah's "Heads Will Roll", Shawn Mendes' "There's Nothing Holding Me Back", and multiple U2 songs such as "Where The Streets Have No Name", "Such In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of", and "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"), but the film has also found a way to show off what goes into making this extravagant production that these characters want to put on, as well as them learning to dance, and the subject of acting. The show in this sequel is actually played out, in a BIG way too, and I LOVED IT🤩

Let's get into character stand outs! You have a few new ones, including 'Porsha' (daughter of Jimmy Crystal) voiced by singer Halsey, whom I thought did a fantastic job...by far the best of the new characters in my opinion🙂 While, I don't think the plot for Taron Egerton's 'Johnny' was as strong here as in the first film, the character has an absolute knockout moment while performing "A Sky Full Of Stars". I also enjoyed Reese Witherspoon's 'Rosita' this time around...I thought her plot was decent, and she has quite the VIP moment while performing "Break Free"🛸🪐💫👽🎤 I was a bit let down with Tori Kelly's 'Meena' this time around...I didn't find her plot that interesting, and she deserved to sing "I Say A Little Prayer" by herself, and not with Pharrell Williams (of all vocalists)😒 I was expecting Scarlett Johansson's 'Ash' to have a bit more plot emotionally, especially with the performance that has been strongly teased in the trailers🤷‍♂️ She was still great though😄

Consensus: Plenty more entertaining than it's predecessor, with a soundtrack just as good! "Sing 2" is big in scale, and in heart, with improved animation🎤🙌 I really enjoyed it🎬💚

"Sing 2" officially releases in theaters exclusively on December 22nd!
