Happy Monday everyone😄 As I head out on vacation for a few days myself, here is the second review in my "The Movies Are My Getaway" movie review series🛳🎶

🎶Vacation all they ever wanted🎶 "Alvin and The Chipmunks: Chipwrecked" sees Alvin, Simon, Theodore, and the Chipettes, Brittany, Jeanette, Eleanor, head off on a Carnival cruise headed for the International Music Awards, with their guardian Dave (played by Jason Lee). Being the mischievous little chipmunk that he is, Alvin causes multiple scenes aboard the ship, before accidentally getting him and the rest of the the munk's blown away overboard via kite. They then find themselves stranded on a deserted island (or so they think), where they meet a young woman named Zoe (played by Jenny Slate). She explains to them that she has been stranded for over eight years😬 In the meantime Dave, along with the unexpected help of his former music supervisor, Ian Hawke (played by David Cross) insanely jump ship to search for Alvin & Co. While the Chipmunks are having a blast with Zoe on the island, they worry that Dave may never find them, or even worse that he isn't even looking for them, but they should also be worried of some certain information that Zoe is not telling them👀🌋

While this movie may briefly entertain for an hour and twenty minutes, "Alvin and The Chipmunks: Chipwrecked" is cheap, lazy nonsense!

The only thing this movie has going for it is the soundtrack, which unfortunately only one of the songs is played out in full...the end scene. The movie features hits from Lady Gaga, P!nk, Destiny's Child, Rihanna, LMFAO and more.

I mean, it is a short movie, so that's always a good thing for the kiddos, but I wouldn't personally recommend this third Alvin and The Chipmunks outing as a must watch. I guess it can be fun for what it is, but the laziness in dialogue, and production just oozes out as you watch. I'll also never understand the whole pep talk, change of heart switch up in the middle of a disastrous situation. Like hey, you know I changed my ways, so you can too, now make sure to save Dave from falling before the volcano erupts so we can conveniently get out of here😂

Consensus: Getaway with the soundtrack, the movie....not so much🤷‍♂️🎧🎶
