The Movies Are My Getaway: Ray J's Review - "Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar"

"Barb & Star Go To Vista Del Mar" is bizarrely enjoyable, extremely silly, and the perfect getaway of a movie to watch at home. Although I do wish it was released in theaters😕 It's one of those movies where the viewer is either going to think it's really stupid, or really fun, and enjoy the humor😅

The film stars Kristen Wiig, and Annie Mumolo who play best friends since birth, Barb (Mumolo) & Star (Wiig), respectively . The two middle aged women find themselves in a bit of a funk after losing their jobs (the same job)...part of the gag...and being kicked out of their weekly talking group. Having heard such glowing reviews about Vista Del Mar in Florida from a friend who has just returned, the gal pals decide to pack up their culottes & curlers, and take the trip✈️ After encountering a real downer of a motel/hotel, snafu/mix-up, the ladies start to live it up only like 40 year old's can...flirting by the pool, drinking fruity drinks the size of fish bowls, and falling in love with the same man😂🌺🌸🐠🦀🐚 Little do they know that there is something fishy going on 👀🐠 They soon find themselves in the middle of a villain's revenge plot (surprisingly played by an actor who plays another main character in the movie, and is revealed in the very beginning).

While I know it will be for everyone, and some may find it too out there, I personally think Barb and Star is a blast, and it made my list of top 15 favorite movies of 2021😄 I definitely think some aspects of it will remind viewers of the Austin Powers films, especially the villain scenes. It really is an enjoyable time in my opinion, filled with coral pastel colors, a talking crab (voiced by Morgan Freeman) and even a couple humorous musical numbers

Both Kristen Wiig, and Annie Mumolo embodied their roles, and hilariously at that😂🤣 Wiig especially! Jamie Dornan is also a stand out!

Consensus: Take a chance and put on your best pair culottes for this hilariously - bizarre trip to Vista Del Mar, with Barb and Star😂🌺🌸🐠🦀🐚🌊
