The Movies Are My Getaway✈️🛳🚗🌴 Ray J's Review - "National Lampoon's Vacation"

Ready for one last getaway? The final review (for this year at least) of my "The Movies Are My Getaway" March movie review series is a classic, and one that some might be surprised to know was my first time seeing in full😅

In the 1983 hit comedy "National Lampoon's Vacation": Clark Griswold (played by Chevy Chase) and his family set off on a cross country road trip - their destination being the highly popular amusement park Walley World, only to encounter mishap after mishap.

Overall I thought this was a really fun movie, and I'm sure, no, I know for a fact it set the bar extremely high for other road trip films that came after it. It's so interesting to see how movies have changed from twenty - thirty years go to now, and there is just a certain creative quality from the 1980-1990's that you sadly don't see often anymore.

This is another one of those film's though where a good chunk of the content or humor featured would have "some" people throwing a fit if it were released in today's day and age🙄 Quite frankly that makes me appreciate this movie even more! 😄

As someone who has never sat down and watched this film in full before, let me tell you some of my personal favorite scenes😂 The scene towards the beginning where the Griswold's take a wrong exit, and roll through the late night city streets of Mississippi hesitant to ask for help, and my other favorite part was when they stop for the night at Uncle Eddie, and Cousin Catherine's farm...(so funny)🤣🌾

One more thing I enjoyed about the movie was the father-son relationship between Clark and his son Rusty (played by Anthony Michael Hall). I thought it was really well done how they understood each other.

Consensus: If you can appreciate the humor, "National Lampoon's Vacation" is road trip mishap bliss. Chevy Chase and Anthony Michael Hall are standouts amongst the Griswold family🚗🎢
